Ms. Tancredi, a 3-time Olympian retired from Canada Soccer in Spring 2017 after a career that spanned from Beijing 2008 to London 2012 to Rio 2016.
During her international career representing Team Canada, she won 2 Olympic Bronze medals in London and Rio. These medals were the first for a Canadian team sport at the Summer Olympics (male or female) since 1936 and winning in Rio also represented the first back to back team sport medals since 1932 and 1936 for Canada at the Summer Games. She earned a Bronze medal at the 2007 Pan American Games and was a 3x participant in the FIFA Women's World Cup.
During her international career for Canada Soccer, she had 125 senior international caps with 27 goals, 20 assists and had 95 starts. Cap #100 was very special for Melissa as she played it in her home region in Hamilton, ON. She played her final game of her career in her current residence of Vancouver February 4, 2017.
In other international play, Melissa earned 4 Golds, 6 Silvers and a Bronze from 2004 to 2016.
Professionally, she played in Sweden, the United States and Canada having played for 6 squads.
Melissa is a graduate of Notre Dame University in Anthropology and Pre-Medicine Studies and earned her graduate degree at Logan School of Chiropractic in St Louis. During her NCAA career at Notre Dame, she earned a NCAA Championship, First and Second All-American honors as well as being a 2x Big East Conference Player of the Year.
