Ms. Krass competing in her first at the 2019 FIS Freestyle World Championship in Park City, Utah won a SILVER Medal in the inaugural BIG AIR SKI event at The Canyons Resort at Park City Mountain. The Big Air Ski event will become an Olympic event at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing for the first time. Julia had never taken part in a Big Air Ski event prior to this one and had never skied under the lights anywhere in the world before. With her mom, dad, 2 brothers and friends from the U.S. Ski & Snowboarding team looking on, Julia brought home the only U.S. medal in this event for men or women.
She was a first-time member of the U.S. Olympic Team in Ski Slopestyle having competed at Sochi 2014. She was the youngest competing member of the U.S. Ski Team and was the 3rd youngest member of the Winter Olympic Team.
During her international career representing Team USA, she has won a FIS Freestyle World Cup Bronze, Dew Tour Bronze, AFP World Cup (Platinum Event) Gold and (AFP Gold Event) Gold. In 2015, she competed at the X Games.
Julia has been a member of the U.S. Senior National Team since 2015-16.
Currently, she is a student at Dartmouth College and is on track to graduate in 2021. Julia balances school and her FIS & AFP World Cup season each year, going to school until Mid-November and then returns for the Spring quarter.
Julia retired from the sport in 2021.
