Since 2005, AGM has been able to work with domestic and multi-national entities for our clients both from a short term and long term side. We work to identify opportunities for the client that meshes with their own personal brand so that these partnerships may benefit both the brand and the individual. At all times we are looking for a win that propels a differentiation for each opportunity and work with the strengths or personal connections an athlete may have with the business or product. It is through these types of wins that leads to repeat business for the athlete.
During the inaugural season of the PWHL, AGM signed the first player in the history of the League (Kelly Pannek - PWHL Minnesota) along with the first player in Toronto and Ottawa respectively. AGM has players currently in 5 of the 6 PWHL markets and has had players on all forms of SPA [Standard Player Agreement] reserve SPA, 1 year SPA, 2 year SPA and 3 year SPA and has been able to work with the League, PWHLPA and its member clubs in an ever changing environment with CBA issues and navigate answers to help our clients.
AGM previously has had players in the NWSL with the Seattle Reign, Boston Breakers, Orlando Pride, Houston Dash and Chicago Red Stars.
With the evolution that has taken place with NIL deals at the NCAA level, the traditional endorsement has been undergoing an overhaul and AGM has had to try and provide a balance to maintain value for the Athlete and at the same time provide guidance to corporations who have been struggling to use “Influencers” who may have no to little allegiances with the brands that they may partner with one day and past the term, flip to a competitor.
Being able to show these brands that signing an Athlete in a mix of a traditional deal with the feel of a digital or social campaign may help the brand’s overall strategy to find their elusive customer and have a consistency that mirrors their performance on the playing field more than aligning with an influencer alone.
A hallmark of our business has been that we have tried to be proactive to help our athletes navigate the what and where they would like to do when they retire. AGM has been able to bring our clients into the broadcast space from a regional and national side in Canada & the United States as an example of this, but additionally worked with our athletes to find board positions, athlete commissions and athlete diplomatic missions with the U.S. State Department - Sport Diplomacy division to serve on to help not their own sport but also gain valuable work experience for their resumes.
Some of our clients today are on the NHL Player Inclusion Coalition, Pan American Games Athletes Commission, U.S. Center for Safe Sport board of directors and World Aquatics Athletes’ Commission, serve part time on broadcast entities such as TSN, Sportsnet & NBC Olympics as an example of this presently.
