Renata Fast - Best Defender and Media All Star Team at 2024 IIHF Women's Worlds

At the 2024 IIHF Women’s World Championship after the completion of the event, the IIHF announced that Canadian Defender Renata Fast was presented with the DIRECTORATE AWARD as the Best Defender of the World Championship. Additionally, she was named to the Media All Star Team which she previously earned in 2023 at the World Championship in Brampton, Ontario.

Renata led Canada in TOI (Time on Ice), Goals (3), Points (6), she was second overall in the tournament in +/-, tied for 8th in overall tournament scoring and 2nd in overall defender scoring.

A native of Washington, D.C. but a transplant resident to the City of Los Angeles since 1991.  I have held positions with the National Hockey League, Los Angeles Kings and XTRA Sports 1150 Sports Radio Los Angeles in the past.  

Today, I own a boutique firm that represents Olympic & Paralympic athletes from the United States & Canada as well as Professional Women’s Hockey League players.  I have represented these athletes since 2005 and eventually helping some of them transition to broadcasting beyond their playing days.  

I am passionate about helping these athletes today and what is beyond for them in the real world.  At the same time, if they want my assistance with things like Gender Equitable treatment or I see a wrong that happens where someone from the outside needs to step up and say "hey we need to look at that here" I am usually all-in to help my clients out.
