PWHL Awards 2025 - Billie Jean King MVP Award nominee
Congratulations to Renata Fast in becoming the first defender to be a nominee for the Billie Jean King Most Valuable Player award for your incredible work with the Toronto Sceptres in the 2024-25 campaign.
Your fellow nominees include two women who will certainly make it to the Hockey Hall of Fame when their own legendary careers are over forwards Hilary Knight of the Boston Fleet and Marie-Philip Poulin of Victoire de Montréal who had special seasons in their respective markets.
During the course of the 30 game season, you set the new scoring record by a defender, but truly carried the play for the Sceptres that propelled them to another playoff spot. Truly, a 200 foot player who led the league with 63 hits, 22 points in 30 games, led all skaters in the PWHL in time on ice at 739:45 for an average of 24:39 per game. You led just about every defender category that exists and tied or led 5 league wide categories as well.
Congrats Renata.
