2024 NCAA Field Hockey Championship - Ashley Sessa
Congratulations to NIL client Ashley Sessa in winning her 2nd NCAA National Championship, her 1st with Northwestern University in a 5-0 win over St Joseph’s in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
In the run up to the National Championship game, she scored the lone goal in the National Semifinal all doing so playing with a broken bone in her hand.
#2024 has seen Ashley qualify for the Summer Olympics in India, helping #TeamUSA get there for the first time since 2016, be named to the #Paris2024 team where she scored a goal and was the youngest player on the squad. She skipped Closing Ceremony to get back to the U.S. and move to #Evanston and get on the campus & meet her new teammates. One of these girls @maddie.zimmer was with her at the Olympics as well as her new head coach #TraceyFuchswho was an assistant for the U.S. Beyond that she had only visited campus one time and this would be an entirely different journey in a new state, new athletic conference #B1GTen and #BackToSchool for the first time since 2022.
It all worked out, she loves her school, the class sizes, the facilities, the area but most of all THE PEOPLE. Her teammates have become a new family & today, that family brought home their 2nd National Championship in 4 years. As a sophomore she will get the chance to try this again 2 more times. Ashley began her journey at North Carolina when she committed at 14, but the young woman that she is today at 20 she has found her place to build her academic journey from that provides her a #WorldClass education for a #BestInClass player.
