RENATA FAST
A native of Burlington, Ontario, Ms Fast has shown in her career that she is one of the best in the world on the blue line from the international and collegiate level. A graduate of Clarkson University (Financial Information & Analysis) where she was a part of their first NCAA Championship and a perennial all-star during her career in upstate New York. Renata was the first ever signed player in Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) history with the Toronto franchise.
During her Team Canada career, Ms Fast won her first Olympic Gold Medal at Beijing 2022 to add to her Olympic Silver Medal from PyeongChang 2018 and her 2021 World Championship as well as World Silver and Bronze. She additionally has 4 medals at the Four Nations Cup. A member of the Canadian Women’s National Team since 2015 (coinciding with her sophomore year at Clarkson), she has played in over 50 games with the WNT, Development Team and U-22.
Renata (along with 3 National Team athletes from Canada and the United States) was invited to take part in the 2019 NHL All Star Weekend in San Jose to demonstrate skills prior to their NHL counterparts taking part in the same competition. She showcased the Accuracy Shooting contest.
At the conclusion of all 4 women’s participation at All Star Weekend, the National Hockey League gifted each lady with a $25,000 donation to the charities of their choice. Ms. Fast will be making a local donation to youth hockey in her hometown (the Burlington Girls Hockey Club) in which she is an active member giving back and coaching the minor hockey teams in her community.
Professionally, Renata was drafted in the 2016 Canadian Women’s Hockey League Draft in the 1st round, 2nd overall by the Toronto Furies. She played 2 seasons in the CWHL where she was a 2-time All Star Game participant and a finalist for CWHL Rookie of the Year. During her 2 seasons, she played in 48 regular season games (6 goals, 11 assists) and 6 playoff games (1 assist) on the blue line.
In the Spring of 2019, Renata along with colleagues from Canada, the United States and Europe helped to form the Professional Women’s Hockey Players’ Association (a not-for-profit based in the United States) which is an advocacy based group to highlight and strive to create a dream for current and future women’s hockey players to have a sustainable league with livable wages along with adequate sales, marketing and visibility. During the 2019-20 hockey year, they are having a barnstorming tour with dates throughout North America. She took part in the kickoff press conference for the event in Toronto at the Hockey Hall of Fame in September 2019.
At the 2020 NHL All Star Weekend, Renata played for the Canadian Women’s All Stars in the Inaugural Elite Women’s 3-on-3 Game presented by Adidas. She had an assist on the first goal during a 2-1 win over the Americans. The team consisted of 10 Hockey Canada and 10 U.S. Women’s National Team players.
Off the ice, Ms Fast conducts a Girls Hockey Camp for 2 groups of young girls (10-13 & 14-16). The camp is held in her hometown of Burlington, ON. She will host her 5th annual event in the Summer of 2022.

Renata Fast - 2020 NHL All Star Weekend
Renata was a participant in the initial Adidas Women’s 3-on-3 Elite Hockey on the Friday of All Star Weekend in St Louis, Missouri for the Canadian All-Stars.
